Friends of Police Head Lines:
In furtherance of the tremendous success achieved through the Queen’s Award Training Programme given in Nine Chennai Police Districts, the Tamil Nadu government has extended the Multimedia Training programme for Police personnel and Friends of police in all the 35 Districts (30 Districts and 5 Commissioner –ates) of the State of Tamil nadu............... Subsequently, 400 Police personnel and 400 Friends of Police have been trained in each District and Commissioner –ate of the State of Tamil Nadu. Approximately, Fourteen thousand participants have been trained in this “Multimedia Training for Police personnel and Friends of Police”. Seven thousand Police personnel and Seven thousand Friends of Police participated in the training programme. Women participants constituted ten percent of the trainees............. FOP Training programme for Educators of street children was held on Wednesday the 16 June 2004 at 2.00 pm at the FOP Multimedia Training Centre, 88, Nelson Manickam Road, Choolaimedu, Chennai-94 (Phone: 5218 6554). The programme was presided over by Thiru. Prateep V. Philip I.P.S, the D.I.G. of Police and Founder of the FOP. This is a joint collaboration of the Madras NGO Forum for Street children headed by Mr. Paul Sunder Singh with the FOP. Shri B.P Nailwal I.P.S., DGP, Police Housing Corporation, Chennai was the chief guest. The training was intended for the Street Educators and field workers who are directly working with street children.

Queen's Award 2002-2003

The prestigious British Queen's Award for Innovation in Police Training and Development was presented to Mr. Prateep V. Philip I.P.S, DIG, Intelligence from Tamilnadu.

FOP project Director Mr. Prateep V. Philip has won the award for his project 'MULTIMEDIA TRAINING CENTRE FOR FRIENDS OF POLICE' which aims at providing better interface between the public and the police.
